Mayonnaise made at home

If you have ever had homemade mayonnaise then you know how delicious it can taste. However, the only problem with making mayo at home is the minimal risk of salmonella poisoning since most recipes call for at least one fresh egg. Preparing raw eggs in the creamy whipped un-cooked food is something that you need to make with caution, beware of the health sanitary conditions before you begin a recipe such as mayo made at home.

If you are ready to prepare it on your own you will only need a few different ingredients

What are the basic ingredients of mayo made at your house?
Well, the basic ingredients are much more basid than you would think!  You will need:

  • egg yolks
  • vinegar
  • salt
  • lemon juice
  • oil

Using a whisk, you’ll whisk together the egg yolks, vinegar, and salt. Slowly, you start to add vegetable oil.  The mixture will start to thicken…if it becomes too thick, you simply add more vinegar to thin it out.  When you get the mayo the way you want it, put in a little bit of lemon juice and you’re done!! Delicious homemade mayonnaise from a few simple ingredients you already have at home! 🙂

Most tea connoisseurs will let you know if a cup of tea is not brewed properly, but what if you are not one of them? What can you do to pour a better stating cup of tea? Here are some tips!

  • Do not over-boil the water: most teas have an optimal temperature that the water should be boiled to… and not any hotter than that!
  • Do not over-steep! Generally tea bags should not steep in the water for any longer than 3 minutes…. Why? The longer it steeps the more bitter it could become, trial and error will help you define the proper method of putting the tea bag in the water.

List of the leanest meats

More and more people are looking of healthier ways to adjust their diet that won’t necessarily cut back on taste. One easy way to do this is to adjust the fat content of the meat in your diet, here are a few tips of how to eat meat with less fat and a list of the leanest meats.

Tip for a meal with less fat:

Trim the fat! Whether you are cooking a brisket or chicken, if you trim the excess fat off of the piece of meat you will benefit from not having to inject it upon consumption. An easy way to do this is after preparation. Be sure to carefully cut off any fat that might be on the cut of meat.

Leaner Meats:

Chicken: The leanest part of the chicken is the white meat (breast), however, without the skin is optimal.

Beef: Chuck, sirloin, and tenderloin, are the leaner parts of the beef. (Ref: MayoClinic)

The leanest of all meats!

According to fitsugar.com the leanest meat available for consumption is Bison, containing less fat than skinless white meat. However, not everybody likes to each this type of meat and it can be hard to find.
