Cadbury egg flavors

The most familiar and most sought after Easter holiday treat… the cream filled chocolate egg! Did you know that the cream filled egg dates its origins back to the 1920’s? It wasn’t until the 1960’s that the Cadbury brothers introduced the tasty Easter themed treat to the world as we know it today! You might even think that the Cadbury is Made in the USA, however, a fun fact is that the chocolate is actually Made in Canada.

The original cream filled egg is a milk chocolate shell with a cream filled fondant, however, as time has passed by so has the vision for the original dessert. Other flavors and different sizes have been introduced making it a semi-versatile chocolate treat.

The flavors that you’ll find sitting next to the cash register or in the chocolate isle of your favorite store include:

  • Caramel Egg – Crack open a Cadbury Caramel Egg and you’ll find a soft gooey delicious caramel center! This egg has been around since 1994!
  • Cadbury Creme Egg – This is the classic egg that everyone is familiar with – open one up and you’ll find a soft center that is white and appears to have a yellow yolk…it’s nothing but sugary sweetness that goes perfectly with the thick milk chocolate shell!
  • Chocolate Creme Egg – Chocolate shell filled with a rich chocolate creme in the middle – perfect choice for the chocoholic!  This one joined the lineup in 1999!
  • Mini Eggs – the Cadbury Mini Eggs are  just a smaller version of the creme egg.  Many people prefer this size as it’s easier to manage thanks to its size!

Discontinued flavors include:

  • Peppermint Egg (last produced in 2010)
  • Dream eggs (white chocolate on the outside, chocolate on the inside – last produced in 2010)
  • Giant Creme Eggs – (last produced in 2006)
  • Border Creme Eggs (last produced in 1981, this was a chocolate egg shell with chocolate fondant inside)
  • Berry Creme Eggs (last seen in the late 1990s)
  • Mad About Chocolate Eggs (last produced in 2010)
  • Creme Egg Twisted (looked kind of like a candy bar but with the classic egg fillling…was very unpopular and was last produced in 2011)

There is no information if these eggs discontinued, but they are no longer listed as official flavors by Cadbury:

  • Orange Creme Eggs – a favorite of many, these eggs recently disappeared from shelves and are not listed on the Cadbury site!
  • Mint Creme Eggs (they have a GREEN yolk!)
  • Caramilk Egg (supposed to taste just like a Caramello)
  • Marble Egg (meaning a mix of chocolate and milk)
  • Cadbury McFlurry (yes, a McDonald’s version of the egg, only produced in some countries)

How to Flavor Quinoa

One of the problems with quinoa, and perhaps the reason why more people don’t eat it, is that not many people know how to get the flavor right. Eaten plain, quinoa can be…well, plain (and thus unappetizing to many). The trick therefore is in the flavoring of your quinoa…and luckily, it goes with lots of different things! If you want to eat your quinoa plain (and not stuff it in something like peppers, or sprinkle it on something like cereal or salads, there are ways to spice up the flavor! Here are some tips on how to get the best flavor out of your quinoa:

1. Chicken Broth or Vegetable Broth – A quick and easy way to get extra instant flavor in your quinoa is to use part chicken or vegetable broth instead of water when cooking your quinoa.

2. Garlic/Olive Oil – Many people saute their quinoa with garlic and olive oil before boiling to freshen and enliven the taste. (The quinoa aborbs the flavor).

3. Bay Leaves – If you want more of a subtle flavor, you can add a bay leaf while cooking your quinoa.

4. Lime/Scallions – Another fresh flavor is to add lime and scallions to your quinoa!

Finally, remember to rinse your quinoa! – There is alot of debate online about whether or not your should be rinsing it. The answer: most cooks will tell you yes, you should rinse it. Quinoa has an outer coat of a chemical called saponin – this is a natural chemical, but to a person’s palate, it has a very bitter taste. If you don’t rinse it off, your quinoa will taste bitter. If the quinoa you’re eating does not taste bitter and you have not been rinsing it, chances are that it has already been rinsed! Manufacturers of many companies will pre-rinse the quinoa prior to packaging! (or course, there’s nothing wrong with rinsing again! 🙂

Popcorn Flavors

I went to the movies and ate popcorn, I went to the fair and bought some popcorn, I went to a sporting even and had some popcorn! It is time to face the truth about popcorn… it is everywhere! Most public venues you go to or enter there will be popcorn served at the snack counter. You can go to most big chain stores and buy some popcorn to munch on while you shop… the intentions of this food and shopping madness?? Possibly to make you stay longer and shop some more! Go to target, walmart, or even costco and you can get yourself a hefty bag of the tasty treat.

So what does this all lead to? Well, the truth is that popcorn now comes in all kinds of different flavors, however, the most common flavors you will find at most of these shops is the classic… buttered or non-buttered! This is a little silly since there are so many different flavors of the treat being added yearly… it never seems to fail however that old faithful plain or buttered pops up the most!

So let us proceed with the many flavors and varieties of popcorn you can find on the market today!

Flavored coffee and tea stir sticks

There are several options you have when it comes to the method of how to sweeten your tea and coffee. There is the traditional sugar, stevia, brown sugar, honey, and sugar cubes to name a few. The traditional method of delivery for all of these sweeteners is to just add in a spoonful into you r cup and stir the liquid with a spoon.

The idea is simple… a dissolvable stick or “wand” that is flavored with a particular sweetener.
